Back from exile

Greetings, all!

I realize this journal's been mostly dormant for several months, and I apologize for the lack of posts.

My recent incommunicado status is due to some personal issues I've had to deal with. As anyone who reads the journal regularly will know, our pet cockatiel (Mo) left us in July. Around that same time, my mother developed some heart issues, namely Atrial Flutter, and was hospitalized after a bad fall. She then spent the next 5 months in and out of hospitals and nursing homes before she passed away in early November. Needless to say, it was a very difficult time for me, and I just needed to take a break for a while.

I'm doing fine, I have a strong support system, and crying jags are fewer and farther between. I'm told the grieving process can last an indeterminent amount of time, and having already lost my grandparents and father, I know that the feeling of loss never completely goes away, although it does get a bit less intense over time.

I wasn't able to have any Yuletide artwork ready for the season, although I have since completed some Yule art which will be released for the 2007 season.

I did get some new work ready for Valentine's Day, and more details about those works can be found elsewhere on the web site.
