Happy New Year!

Samhain Blessings to all who observe it - Happy Hallowe'en to all!

I took some daytime photos of the house, so everything is clearer - I'll post them later today!

Hogwarts of High Point

I've converted the house into Hogwarts for Halloween...well, as close as I could, anyway! Here are the promised photos:

And, here's my pumpkin:

I pinholed the Dark Mark into Professor Trelawney's crystal ball, but it's not visable - I suppose I'd need a stronger light behind it, but I rather like the glow the black light gives, so I'll leave it - it would have been too difficult to make out from outside, anyway!

If blogs were money....

My blog is worth $10,161.72.
How much is your blog worth?

Nicked from lots of LJers

The Google "needs" meme:

Type your name needs (ie: Mary needs) into Google and post the 10 first (or best) results:

1. Mary needs prayers.
2. Mary needs the Lamb in School.
3. Mary needs apostles to spread the devotion to the Flame of Love of her Heart in the world.
4. Mary needs a two-parent home that will accept her and her four siblings.
5. Mary needs opportunities to play and experience movement in a variety of postitions. oo-er!
6. Mary needs to be more diverse, more international and even more public.
7. Mary needs to be freed from all this.
8. Mary needs to learn that clever rhymes are no substitute for a treatment program run by certified substance abuse counselors.
8. Mary needs to put together a very important presentation for work that will determine her employment future.
9. Mary needs to attend gallery openings and be the center of attention. Unfortunately, Mary's hair also needs some attention. yeah, that second part is true!
10. Mary needs to be freed from an idealized vision of Christian perfection. mmmm hmmmm

Miscelaneous ramblings

Sorry for the lack of journalling...there's just not a lot to report - I'm arting, and my "day job" is getting a bit busier now that we're coming up on the holiday season. I do have a couple of random thoughts...the first of which won't mean much to folks not in the Triad TV viewing area:

PTI: My husband pointed out that you don't save "about $20 going to that airport 'down the road' (RDU)", like the commercial suggests; you save more like $300. My question is this: Why don't they (PTI) try to compete with them (RDU) price-wise instead of spending revenue slagging them off in commercials?

Merck: Their new advert asks (paraphrased) "If you owned a drug company, what would you do?" Well, they didn't ask me, but I'll tell 'em anyway: Quit spending so much money advertising, and funnel those funds into research.

There...some Saturday night ramblings. :)
