Website's live!

I finally finished with the initial updating and launch of the website! I'm moving the art aspect of my life to it's own domain, and reserving the business domain for the business, or my "day job" as it were. So, MaryLayton.net is live! So far testing seems to show that everything is functioning normally, but we posted the admin email on the main page, just in case. Some of the pages aren't finished yet and only have placeholders at the moment, but they'll be ready in the coming weeks. I'm leaving things as is at the previous site but will probably install some forwarding code on the relevent pages.

So, if you're linking to me, the URL is now http://www.marylayton.net!

Went to see Hitchhiker's Guide, etc. this weekend. It wasn't too bad - not quite as good story-wise as I'd hoped, but I hear they're planning sequels, so as a whole, the tale might play out well. It was visually quite good - nice special effects. Casting was excellent. I love Martin Freeman, was impressed by Mos Def, Alan Rickman as the voice of Marvin was a perfect match. And, Sam Rockwell - that man is a brilliant actor. I've seen him in 3 or 4 things now, and he never ceases to please. If you're a fan of the books (or other incarnations) it's worth a viewing, but don't expect to be blown away by the story. I certainly liked it enough to want to see what follows.
