Well, I've finally got the journal looking and functioning the way I want, so I'm "officially" opening it for 'blogging!
This journal is replacing my previous site-based journal, which will remain on-line for archiving purposes - it can be visited by clicking "Old Journal" in the Archives link over there---->.
I still plan to keep my LiveJournal as well and will probably mirror most of my posts here at LJ.
Comments are working marvelously - the main spur to getting this blogging system was that the comments function went south in the old journal after trying to update to their latest version. After 5 days of trying to fix it, searching the support forums in vain and asking for help to no avail, I decided it was time to move to a different system. Oops - I rambled a bit off course there...back to the point: comments are working marvelously - if you have a TypeKey account, you can log in and your comment should appear straight away - otherwise first comments are moderated to prevent that bloody comment spam. Once you've had a comment approved, you should be good-to-go in future.
I'm working on setting up a "notify list" option, so you can sign up if you wish to be notified when I update this thing. The default version doesn't have any "fail-safe" options - so it's too prone to abuse (someone getting mad at someone and signing them up for all sorts of mailing lists they don't want to be signed up for). I'll be using a system with a confirmation requirement and unsubscribe function.
So, welcome, and thanks for reading! I'll try not to be too boring....
